Description
Driving along a country road in Northeast Tennessee Piney Flats to be exact I came upon this humorous scene. Trying to decide on a title brought some chuckles. Being very familiar with "Taking the long way around the barn" something I've been accused of (guilty) I immediately came up with "Wrong Way Around the Barn". My wife suggested "Flying Barn", and "Heads Up" but a photographer friend suggested "Barnstormers". I'm sure many of you will come up with something funny as well. Living here in Tennessee barn scenes are as common as well chickens. Many are worn and weathered rather than the more traditional red barn. Since this is the case I am beginning a collection here in FAA of barns and on my Pinterest board as well. Barns will be featured from you guessed it right here in Tennessee but will also be photographed wherever I find them. Since a lot of these wood structures that are sitting on land that used to be farmed but now being converted to housing or commercial development I see it as a way of preserving them as do builders who reclaim the wood to reuse in buildings, furniture, floors and many other places.
