Description
This rock formation is sometimes known as Mushroom Rock. It is what's left of an old basalt lava flow when this part of the Black Mountains was experiencing volcanic activity. Erosion and wind blown sand from that time till now has worn down the rest of that original flow and left behind the formation you see today. It is ever changing and from different angles you may see many things depending upon your imagination. I see an alien who was left behind on perhaps the most desolate part of our planet and it seems to be looking skyward and wondering why he was left behind. More of my work can be seen in my collections here in FAA

It is an absolutely sculpture, Jim. Your description of an alien looking skyward is very fitting.
