Artist's Description

Before entering the Alamo Chapel in San Antonio Texas you enter this area that is known as the Alamo History Walk.This structure appeared on the Alamo grounds in the early 1930s during the era of the Works Projects Administration. The WPA was a federal program charged with two tasks: (1) promoting construction projects as a mean of putting people back to work, and (2) beautifying parks, fair grounds, and historic sites. The work of the WPA can still be seen all over Texas. After first seeing the façade of the Alamo which can be a bit underwhelming when compared to ones imagination that over the years has fostered the thought of it being a mighty fortress. Once inside the courtyard you immediately realize how deceptive the front is and how much space there actually is behind the walls.
Much has changed within the walls since the days that the battle was fought here. Many of the beautiful trees that grace the grounds were transplanted here years later. A beautiful fountain is now pr...

My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
