Artist's Description

Photo was taken on a trip to Maine with friends from a local photography club. Four photographers and our wives travelled first to York Beach to get some shots of Nubble Lighthouse. The next day we travelled North to Rockport where we stayed for remainder of trip and travelled daily to different destinations. After the daily trips we returned to our rental which had an artist studio where we could look at the day's work and process them exchanging ideas and tips for the next day's adventure. This photo was taken while on an excursion to Cape Elizabeth near Portland. It is sometimes referred to as Portland Head Lighthouse. This can cause some confusion if using a GPS as the different maps may use one designation and not the other. There are many different angles from which to see this picturesque scene. A walking path offers vantage points to enjoy the views of the lighthouse, the lobster boats coming and going, beach scenes and surrounding foliage.

Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
