Cotswold Sheep are a unique and rare breed of longwool sheep. Originally from the Cotswold Hills of England they made their way to the United States when Christopher Dunn imported one to breed with his flock of ewes. The result was so impressive that by 1914 over 760,000 crossbreeding’s had been recorded. Sought after for its wool which is luxurious and strong and produces a knit similar to Mohair in fact it has been called the “Poor Man’s Mohair”. Other reasons for its popularity is that it has a less gamey taste than even young lambs. It requires less feed than other breeds and will survive where its counterparts will perish. This photo was taken at Rocky Mt Tennessee on the grounds of the Cobb Massengill House and Museum just outside the village of Piney Flats Tennessee. This is one of the young born this spring. My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
