Artist's Description

Oftentimes an image brings to mind a song and it's lyrics. When I first conceived this I had Leonard Cohen's "Dance Me To The End Of Time" in mind. Subsequently It was brought to my attention that Jonathon Myer had a song titled "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room which I thought was very appropriate for this photo. The title of this photograph was taken from Myers lyrics.

Jim Cook

My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
