Description
The first image is of Lincoln's bust which sits atop the Lincoln Address Memorial in the Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg Pennsylvania, The monument one of Gettysburg's most popular is a tribute to both Lincoln and his famous speech. The background of this image is of a section of Soldiers' National Cemetery where more than 3500 Union soldiers are buried. The Battle of Gettysburg, fought from July 1 to July 3, 1863, came about because General Robert E. Lee marched his Army of Northern Virginia into Pennsylvania in late June 1863 after a victory obtained in Chancellorsville. The battle took place over the first 3 days in July 1863. There were more casualties suffered here than those from the entire war.
William Saunders designed the cemetery which was dedicated on November 19th 1863 less than five months after our nation's greatest battle.Mr Saunders design allowed space for a memorial to be built at a later date. The bust of President Abraham Lincoln was sculpted by Henry Bush-Brown and is situated in the middle of a low semi circular expanse of white marble. In a small way I intended my photograph as a tribute or acknowledement of the sacrifice
made by so many.

As for your native American print were very involved with the Lakota sioux tribe in S Dakota. My big brother was an honorary brother of the Lakota Sioux for 25 years . He was a sun dancer and the real deal we lost him a few years back misdiagnosed with MS and it was pancreatic cancer. I inherited native art off the reservation.
Jim Cook replied:
Thank you so much for visiting my photos. Much like you, I love history., especially about Native Americans.

Thank you, Stefani. you are becoming quite knowledgeable about CW history as is your son! I moved from Pennsylvania to Tennessee so not able to visit Gettysburg as much as I would like. I'll have to visit the other sites you mentioned.
