Artist's Description

This architectural gem is the focal point of this town called Akureyri. Located in Northern Iceland it sits prominently on top of hill which provides a grand view of the town itself and the fiord. There are 100 steps leading to the entrance. The church was consecrated in 1940 and was designed by Iceland's first educated architect Guojon Samuelsson. More of my photography from Iceland can be viewed here in FAA Pixels at my collection https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/1-jim-cook.html?tab=artworkgalleries&artworkgalleryid=813590
