It is our pleasure to inform you that we've accepted TWO of your photo submissions for our April issue. Listen Closely and You Will Hear and Ghost of the Huber Breaker. We'd also like to surprise you in that Listen Closely will be our Cover for this month!
Congratulations and Welcome to the Frontier!

Huber Breaker:At 134 foot tall ,eleven stories it was the largest anthracite coal breaker in North America. Built in 1938 it was a technological wonder to behold and it was built to meet the needs of the many mines in the area. It served as both a breaker and colliery where seven thousand tons of coal could be broken up sifted, sorted, washed then distributed by train gondolas. During periods of full production the Glen Alden Coal Company employed seven to ten thousand people. A marketing strategy ahead of its time saw the company dye the coal blue and it became their trademark.
It closed in 1973.Long since abandoned around 1976 it first becam...

Jim Cook

My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
