Credo che lo stegosauro ghiacciato valga un doppio premio: per la foto dell'anno e per una scoperta che rivoluziona la zoologia. I think this picture of Icy Stegosaurus deserves a double award: award for the Photo of the Year and for the discovery that changes the zoology. Great picture! L/F/Tw

Jim Cook replied:

Claudio, Thank you very much, and hope to receive acknowledgement from Zoology Society.

Artist's Description

This photo was part of the 2018 Holiday Exhibition in the Chelsea district of New York City. Venue is Root Studio and Gallery.
A popular destination in southeast Iceland near the town of Jokulsarlon is this Glacier Lagoon. Chunks of ice or icebergs that break off of the nearby glacier create some fascinating scenes. In this photo the berg in center seems to be a scaly plated stegosaurus.
A day's drive from the capital Reykjavik and well worth the drive.

About Jim Cook

Jim Cook

My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
