Burial site of members from the Jefferson Fire Company No22 New Orleans Louisiana. The cemetery was a former plantation and the grounds hold the remains of many from varied backgrounds including slaves who once worked the plantation to a Civil War General. The cemetery is located within the "Garden District" of New Orleans. It was the 2nd Protestant cemetery to be built in New Orleans.
In Lafayette Cemetery Number 1 at New Orleans, Louisiana, the communal tomb of the Jefferson Fire Company Number 22, built in 1852, proudly displays the pumper wagon that represented relief and rescue to a vulnerable city.

The cemetery is open and free to the public and there is a man there (Marcus) who will take groups of people on a 20 minute walk that he guides for tips.
