Description
Lake Bistineau Louisiana has been drained to kill off the invasive plant known as Giant Salvinia. The plant takes over whatever body of water it invades. It resembles a thick dirty green carpet. Once drained and the plant dies off the bottom of the lake turns to a brown residue of all that remains of the weed.
This has been an annual event for the past 6 years.
Image was taken with a camera converted to infrared.
