Description
Boneyard beach consists of a forest that the ocean has taken over. Even in nature there is a constant battle of one entity against another. Water versus earth. Water, it is said, is indestructible. The never ending erosion will wear away the earth or whatever is in its path. In this case an entire forest.
The title, Last Man Standing is meant to convey the symbolism that this photo represents. A lone survivor to that battle between earth and water, even though the tree no longer lives and is only a reflection of what it once was.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
