Artist's Description
Trees and stone really capture the imagination. So elemental and primitive, ever changing and forever remaining the same. Natures silent witness to events both manmade or otherwise.
Are these stones arranged here to tell a story, markers of some past civilization, reflection of the stars, pointing the way or remnants of some colossal battle strewn along the beach like so much debris.
Perhaps it is nothing more than the randomness of the universe and rather than be bored we attach mysterious meaning to it.
I know not and care not the why of it all but as Robert Bresson advised I merely try to make visible what without me, might perhaps never have been seen.
This photograph was taken while walking on the Marginal Way an historic trail located in the seacoast town of Ogunquit Maine.

Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
