Description
Once the fishing capital of the world until an earthquake struck. It never returned to its former prominence.
Today it is the out of the way destination for tourists and I say out of the way since the only way to it is by plane or boat. Once on land you can wander the streets or rent bicycles and see the sights that way since it still is a fishing village and there are many photo opportunities to be had.
There are occasional street vendors selling items like handmade jewelry and several shops offering souvenirs.
More of my photography from Alaska and other parts of the world can be viewed in my collections here in Fine Art America by following this link
