Description
House is thought to have been built in 1879. Becky Cable lived there and was well known throughout Cades Cove. House was first used as a store then a residence and boarding house. It was the first all frame house in the Cove. It never had plumbing and heat was provided from a fireplace.
Home was built and lived in at first by Leason Gregg. Eight years later it was purchased by John Cable. He, his daughter Rebecca, her brother Dan and his wife helped to run the store and eventually also maintained it as a boarding house. More of my images from the Smokies can be viewed in my collection titled "Smoky Mountains"
Becky Cable lived to the age of 94 or 96 depending on differing accounts.

It is with pleasure and and honor that I have chosen this work to “show off” to other FAA artists and also future buyers on the look out for the beauty of your works. Thanks for being an active member of our fine artists’ group. Glad to have you aboard.
