Description
Two brothers at water’s edge of Lake Bistineau Louisiana. This is their age of discovery. Throwing stones to see them splash and then watch as they sink to the bottom of the lake. With sticks in hand they will pretend to fish or just poke at things only they can see. They will lean closer to the water to peer into it only to have the quick hand of their guardian grab hold and save them from an unwelcome bath. Soon they will march along the shore each in a different direction exploring every nook and cranny turning over bleached pieces of driftwood in search of keepsakes they can pocket or give to someone they love. If lucky they might find something living, perhaps a small frog or cricket that will also be handed off to the adult who will set it free once the children make some other new discovery. They will listen in awe to the different sounds and songs of birds that swoop into view then fly away into the trees hidden by streaming strands of Spanish Moss. But like all good things this day at the lake must come to an end and they will have to suspend their adventures until the next quest begins.
This piece suitable for home or office decorating. Photo was taken at Lake Bistineau Louisiana. For more photos of this lake check out my galleries here in FAA.
