No one knows the distance of the journey, and really, no one knows its true origin or for that matter its true ending. And we the travelers have no idea where we are heading.
But from the time we are new born infants, expectations are placed upon us to say our first words, take our first steps.
As children, we rush headlong into the future, anxiously, impatiently awaiting the next milestone to be achieved as we journey through life.
From this earliest beginning we advance to other accomplishments. Riding a bike without training wheels, swimming without preservers, jumping off a high dive. And all the while, eagerly, learning, how to.
Those early days of our youth are filled with wonder and joy, but along the way some of it is lost, until one day we find ourselves, out of puberty and have become adults with responsibilities, nearing that time when there is more behind us than before us. And wistfully, we wish to go back, and enjoy the journey jus...

Jim Cook

My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
