Artist's Description

The Steel Stacks are a tourist draw for the city of Bethlehem Pennsylvania. This 10 acre revitalized brownfield sits among the ruins of the former Bethlehem Steel. The Hoover Mason Trestle gets you up close to the machinery and stacks. For 140 years, the plant was the second largest steel manufacturer in the nation, producing steel for shipbuilding and the railroad industries. It ceased operations in 1995.

My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
