Artist's Description

The Court of Last Resort or better known in Italy as the Court of Cassation is located within the Palace of Justice in Rome Italy. It is Italy's Supreme Court. Responsible for interpreting law. A Court of Cassation interprets law and does not re-examine facts of a case.
The foundation stone was put in place on March 14th 1888. Some 22 years later it was officially opened.
Because of the buildings size, it's many adornments and statues throughout it gave rise to suspicions that corruption may have taken place and gave the site its derogatory name of Bad Palace.
The building, taking up nearly a city block is impressive as you cross over the river Tiber and come face to face with it.
More of my photography from Italy may be viewed in my collection by same name.
