Legend has it that the God known as Coyote to the Paiute Indians was mad at the "Legend People" creatures part man, part animal who squandered the resources of the desert and wouldn't share with other denizens of this arid land. So Coyote being the trickster he was known to be invited the Legend People to a grand feast where they could eat all day long. They dressed in their finest garb and before they could partake of anything Coyote turned them to stone. As it occurred they were standing, sitting, some tried to flee but all were petrified. Their brightly colored clothes are said to be the reason for the many different colors of the hoodoos. The elements of nature have worn away their faces. My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
