Puckett Cabin. Mrs. Puckett became a midwife after the age of 50. Lived to be 102 years old and helped deliver over 1000 babies. Scenes like this are common along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. Reminiscent of life in Appalachia. Sad footnote to her life is that none of her 24 children lived beyond infancy.
My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
