I had heard of this statue while gallery sitting at the Work of Art Gallery and Gift shop in Bristol Tennessee from a visitor. So, I set out to find it, and after visiting the 2nd cemetery that morning I located it at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol Tennessee.
The title of this piece which is inscribed on the monument comes from Augustus Toplady who wrote the hymn Rock of Ages.
My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
