Before Stay At Home order was issued here in Sullivan County in Northeast Tennessee, I and a friend took a drive in the country for a day of hiking and photographing what we came upon. The news of the day, of course was heavy on the virus pandemic and accounted for scenes much like this, where areas that were once popular with hikers, picnickers and nature lovers were nowhere to be seen.
Since that time, I'm staying at home like so many others and am developing an acute case of Cabin Fever. So once this is over I'm, going to take me to the river and not ever take that freedom for granted.
My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
