The Supplicant Canvas Print

In the Cambridge English Dictionary supplication is someone who asks, humbly, a god or someone in power to aid them or grant them their need. To ask too many times a supplicant risks becoming importunate or annoying. This is the feeling I get from this image. The little man with hands on hips almost defiantly asking a dark powerful god? for something needed.

My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use.
