Artist's Description

I was last at Lake Bistineau in January 2016. The lake had been drained as it has been for the past 6 years. Lake Bistineau Louisiana has been drained to kill off the invasive plant known as Giant Salvinia. The plant takes over whatever body of water it invades. It resembles a thick dirty green carpet. Once drained and the plant dies off the bottom of the lake turns to a brown residue of all that remains of the weed. This visit the lake was probably near 90% towards being filled. There was still evidence of the salvinia so undoubtedly the lake will be drained again. Photo from first visit as well as more of my work can be viewed here in FAA
