Description
The bluebird is considered to be an omen for happy times ahead. It is also symbolic of spiritual awakening, contentment, joy or happiness.
If you have a garden, it is a good idea to have a birdhouse for them. They will eat those insects that destroy your plants and vegetables.
Some other facts are that they can reach speeds of 17 miles an hour, they are family oriented and is said that the male blue bird is an example for all husbands to emulate.
There are 3 species of blue birds. The one shown here is an Eastern Blue Bird, another is the Western Blue Bird and the third is the more elusive Mountain Blue Bird preferring more natural setting in the wild than what a suburban setting might offer.
There was a song called Bluebird of Happiness, so decided on Bluebird of Joy for this title.
