Artist's Description

Driving along the road in Zion National Park I spotted this female sheep standing alone. Soon enough a few more darted across the road and this male joined her side. They nuzzled necks at first then watched as other motorists stopped to view or photograph them. They were as intent on the spectators as the spectators were of them.
You never know exactly what you will see in this park since the wildlife are all protected and have little fear of the public. I was completely enthralled with Zion and the only comparison I had was to Alaska. From my view Alaska is magnificent and colorful with the main difference being that Zion is right in your face while scenes in Alaska are often at a distance.

My body of work ranges from photographic digital art to the more traditional use of a camera photographing scenes of landscapes and everyday life. My photography has its roots going back to my experiences with infrared film. It was there that I saw how an image could be manipulated to something much more different than what was first seen. I still compose some photos from the infrared spectrum only now I use a camera converted to IR. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...
