Description
While in Anchorage Alaska we were entertained by this street musician as he played a lively rendition of Hey Soul Sister the version made popular by the band called Train. The instrument he was playing was an electric violin. He had an audience made up of office workers on lunch break as well as the foot weary tourists like yours truly. The concrete park with tier seating was interspersed with shade trees and made for a comfortable and intimate setting to enjoy the entertainment. From what I could gather the musician was a student earning some pocket money for his trip back home to Hawaii and throughout the different songs he performed people would walk up and drop some bills or change into his violin case.
I Found Anchorage to be vibrant and much like the rest of Alaska eclectic! A wonderful museum to learn about the history of Alaska, many unique shops and restaurants. The restaurant atop the Captain Cook Hotel provided a splendid view of the city, harbor and mountains and terrific meal. Colorful parks where flowers are so bright and vibrant I dare you to pass by without taking a picture. The people were friendly and helpful if directions were needed.
