Description
Perhaps the most famous fountain in the world, Rome's Trevi Fountain is an Italian Masterpiece of baroque architecture. Designed by the architect Nikola Salvi, with influence from Gian Lorenzo Bernini, and finished by Giuseppe Pannini and others.
An aqueduct was constructed around 19 BC that carried water to Rome's Public Baths from 14 miles outside of the city.
In 1629 Bernini submitted sketches to a Pope but wasn't acted on until a new Pope commissioned it and wasn't officially completed until 1762.
